Michael Parkinson Gets Offered A Six Figure Deal To Front Waitrose’s TV Programmes

Michael Parkinson has been off our TV screens for ages now but a new channel could see his come back.
Michael has been offered a six figure deal to front Waitrose’s new TV channel that is set to begin this summer.
But that’s not it because the 78-year-old will also write for a new Waitrose Weekend newspaper that is released in stores every Thursday.
Parkinson has been off TV for some time because he has been recovering from prostate cancer as he was diagnosed last year.
Talking about returning to work Michael said:
'I’m delighted to be working with Waitrose on this new series. It allows me to indulge in two of my favourite things - good food and interesting conversation.'
Waitrose marketing director Rupert Thomas talked about Parkinson as she said:
'Sir Michael Parkinson is one of Britain’s best-loved and most accomplished talk show hosts.
'This, combined with his interests in food, cooking and cricket, will create compelling viewing and reading for Waitrose TV and Waitrose Weekend. We’re thrilled he’s agreed to work with us.'
